STEP THREE

HOW DO I ACTUALLY VOTE?

Voting is literally as easy as ranking the hot messes on Love Island. The most important thing is that you actually do it!

If you’re enrolled, you’ll get your voting form in the mail between September 20 and 25. Then you just fill it out and post it back.
If you’re not enrolled, you’ll need to cast a special vote.

WTF is STV?
Tauranga City Council uses the single transferable vote (STV) system. But really, all it means is you’re still just filling out a form…
RANK YOUR FAVES:

On your voting form, rank the Ward candidates in order of your preference write 1 next to your favourite, 2 for your second-favourite and so on.
You can rank as many or as few as you like.
Then do it again – rank the At Large (city-wide) and Mayoral candidates, too.

STEP FOUR

POST YOUR VOTE

Your vote must be received by midday on October 12, so if you haven’t posted it already, you’ll need to deliver in person to:
    • TCC Service Centre: 91 Willow Street: Mon-Thu 8am-5pm; this Friday 11th October 8am-8pm; this Saturday 12th October 9am-midday.
    • Council Libraries: Mon-Fri 9.30am-5pm; Saturday 9.30am-midday

Note: If you don’t have your voting papers, you can cast a special vote at the TCC Service Centre, but you do need to be enrolled. It’s best to enrol online in advance, you can do it here.
